As a fitness trainer, I know the importance of fueling your body with nutritious food. But when it comes to sandwiches, I have to admit, I'm a bit of a creature of habit. My go-to sandwich is turkey with cheese and Russian dressing. Sometimes I'll throw in a bit of lettuce, but that's about it. I know, I know, it's not the most exciting sandwich out there. But lately, I've been feeling like I need to spice things up a bit.


That's why I decided to create a new and improved sandwich that's just as healthy as my old standby, but way more interesting. Introducing the NOGA Powerhouse Sandwich!

This sandwich has all the protein and fiber you need to power through your day, plus some delicious and unexpected flavors. Here's how to make it:


Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of whole grain bread

  • 3 ounces of grilled chicken breast

  • 1/4 of an avocado

  • 2 slices of tomato

  • 1 slice of red onion

  • 1 tablespoon of hummus

  • 1 teaspoon of hot sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Directions:

  1. Toast the bread to your liking.

  2. Spread the hummus on one slice of bread and the hot sauce on the other.

  3. Layer the chicken, avocado, tomato, and red onion on one slice of bread.

  4. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Put the other slice of bread on top and enjoy!


Not only is this sandwich delicious, it's also packed with nutrients. The chicken is a great source of protein, while the avocado provides healthy fats and fiber. The tomato and red onion add some vitamins and minerals, while the hummus and hot sauce give the sandwich a bit of a kick.
