Pilates+ Mat Certification is a 100% online, self-paced Pilates Mat teacher training program created by NOGA Movement. The program was developed by Pilates educator and teacher trainer Laurie Alfano from more than 20 years of real-world teaching and instructor education experience.
The $149 one-time tuition includes online training videos, a downloadable manual and workbook, recorded Pilates classes, teaching practice and drills, practical anatomy, Pilates principles, cueing, modifications and advancements, injury considerations, class construction, music instruction, an online certification test-out, certificate upon successful completion, and lifetime access to the training.
There are no required live training times, travel weekends or completion deadlines. Students can enroll and complete the Pilates+ Mat Certification online from anywhere in the world and progress through the training at their own pace.

Can I become a Pilates instructor online? Yes. Pilates+ Mat Certification is a 100% online Pilates Mat teacher training program. You'll complete the training videos, manual and workbook, practice classes and teaching preparation online, then complete your online test-out. Once you successfully pass the test-out, you'll receive your Pilates+ Mat Certification certificate.
How much does Pilates+ Mat Certification cost? Pilates+ Mat Certification is $149 USD as a one-time payment. Your tuition includes the complete online training, manual and workbook, recorded classes, online test-out and lifetime access to the program. There are no ongoing licensing fees.
Why is Pilates+ only $149? Pilates+ was intentionally designed as online education. By eliminating many of the expenses associated with traditional teacher training, including training facilities, travel weekends and multiple on-site teacher trainers, we can make professional Pilates education more accessible. The lower price doesn't mean less education. You're learning directly from the creator of Pilates+, with more than 20 years of real-world Pilates teaching and instructor education behind the program.
Is there a schedule or required live training? No. There are no required class times or training weekends. For the standard Pilates+ Mat Certification, there are no required class times or training weekends. Pilates+ is self-paced, so you can train around work, family and your own schedule. Students choosing the optional 100-Hour Teacher Education Pathway may have additional practice, observation, teaching and live/supervised education requirements.
How long does Pilates+ Mat Certification take? There is no required completion timeline. Some students move through the material quickly, while others take more time to study and practice before testing out. The goal isn't to finish as fast as possible. The goal is to feel prepared to teach.
Do I need previous Pilates experience? No, Pilates+ is designed to provide a thorough foundation for aspiring instructors while also being valuable for fitness professionals, Reformer instructors, movement professionals and experienced teachers who want to expand or refresh their Pilates Mat education.
What will I learn in the certification? Pilates+ covers Pilates history and principles, the Pilates+ Mat repertoire, practical anatomy, cueing, modifications and advancements, injury/pregnancy considerations, class construction, teaching practice, music and teaching presence. The focus isn't simply learning exercises. You'll learn how to teach them. Pilates+ is a 100-hour Pilates Mat teacher education program combining comprehensive coursework with self-practice, observation, practice teaching, class planning and assessment. Your training is designed to prepare you for the part that matters most: confidently teaching Pilates in the real world.
How does the online Pilates certification test-out work? After completing the training and practicing the material, you'll complete the Pilates+ online certification test-out. A link will be provided in the training. You can test when you feel prepared. Once you successfully pass, your Pilates+ Mat Certification certificate will be issued immediately.
Can I take Pilates+ outside the United States? Yes. Pilates+ is completely online, and students can enroll from around the world. There is no travel requirement or in-person training weekend. Pilates+ is designed to prepare you with the knowledge and teaching skills needed to lead Pilates Mat classes. Requirements for instructors can vary by studio, employer, insurer and location, so students should always check any specific local or employer requirements.
